George Hickton – Chairman, Hawke’s Bay Tourism Board
As the former Chief Executive of the New Zealand Tourism Board, George has extensive experience within the tourism sector. During his time at Tourism New Zealand George repositioned the organisation as Tourism New Zealand and launched the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign. During this time tourism growth to New Zealand increased by 60% and Tourism became New Zealand’s largest export industry.
Annie Dundas – General Manager
“I have been involved in the business of tourism for 20 years, both at Tourism New Zealand and for the last four years as the General Manager of Hawke’s Bay Tourism. I have seen a region seriously get its act together in that time – committed tourism operators delivering amazing experiences that deliver serious dollars into our region. We have a magnificent story to tell and we need to tell more people about it.”

Matt Cantlon- Marketing Manager
“I have 15 years marketing and commercial experience working across NZ, Europe and Australia, and have been lucky enough to work for some great companies including Air New Zealand, BNZ, Hertz and Fly Buys. Here at Hawke’s Bay Tourism, my job as Marketing Manager is to encourage as many people as possible to visit Hawke’s Bay, and to see and do as much as possible when they’re here (arguably not a difficult task when we have such a great product to sell!). Hawke’s Bay is a special place so my family and I feel very lucky to live here, and I feel privileged to be a part of the team that tells the Hawke’s Bay story to the rest of the world”.

Hamish Evans – Trade Marketing Manager
“I have been involved in the hospitality and tourism industry for 15 years, and have been fortunate enough to travel the world working with international hotels and tour operators during that time. After being based in Sydney for the past 12 years I have returned home to my favourite destination, beautiful Hawke’s Bay! I have recently joined Hawke’s Bay Tourism as Trade Marketing Manager and I look after the business end of tourism. Educating travel agents, attracting conference & incentive business and managing our Membership programme. The tourism experiences Hawke’s Bay has to offer are world class and I look forward to sharing these experiences with all those who care to take the time to explore our amazing part of this world.”

Ben Hutton – Events Manager
After 20 years in Auckland, and with marketing and communications experience for some of New Zealand’s largest tourism organisations including Auckland Zoo, Air New Zealand and World Masters Games 2017, I’ve returned home to Hawke’s Bay and feel privileged to be contributing to the vibrancy and growth of tourism in the region. As the Events Manager, I’ll be leading the delivery of Hawke’s Bay Tourism’s events as well as leveraging our support for many of the region’s other events. I’ll also be advocating for the coordinated approach of the Regional Events Strategy as a way of showcasing Hawke’s Bay to the rest of New Zealand and beyond.

Megan Best – Content and Communications Co-Ordinator
“Growing up in Hawke’s Bay I’ve always loved seeing the region punch above it’s weight with our fantastic food and wine. After studying Marketing at EIT I was lucky enough to find a role at Sacred Hill Vineyards that let me combine two passions, phenomenal wine and telling the Hawke’s Bay story. Now in my role at Hawke’s Bay Tourism I get to spend my days telling the world about the fantastic things Hawke’s Bay has to offer. Most days will find me writing press releases, working on marketing campaigns and creating compelling copy. Give me a call if you’ve got a great story idea!”

Becs Collier – Marketing & Events Co-ordinator
“I have stepped into the Marketing and Event Coordinator role for 6 months while Jenna is on maternity leave. I work closely with Ben, our Events Manager and the Marketing team, Matt and Megan.
I studied in Wellington for 3 years while undergoing my Bachelor of Communications Degree and as stunning as it is I came home back to the Bay once I had graduated. Although it’s a small place I love everything ‘Hawke’s Bay’ from the beautiful beaches to the delicious eateries and boutique shops, meaning I can be very persuasive when it comes to getting others to Hawke’s Bay.
I believe that if I dream big, work hard, stay focused and surround myself with great people, amazing things happen, and Hawke’s Bay Tourism is just the place for this!”

Jenna Mabey – Marketing & Events Co-ordinator (currently on maternity leave)
“Growing up in the small town of Dannevirke, I always knew I wanted to work in Tourism. I studied Tourism at EIT and managed to get my hands on a coveted work experience spot at Hawke’s Bay Tourism, and never really left. My role is in media and events. You’ll see me out and about helping host Media Famils and helping to organize The Big Easy and F.A.W.C!”
