Award categories 2019

  • Accommodation Award: this category showcases the best places to stay in the region. Depending on the entries this category may be split into large and small.
  • Visitor Experience Award: Any activity or attraction provider can enter this category, which recognises exemplary visitor experience. Depending on the number of entries, this category may be split between small businesses (less than 5 full time staff) and large businesses (greater than 5 full time staff).
  • Culture and Heritage Award: this category recognises businesses that showcase the region’s culture and its heritage.
  • Essence of Hawke’s Bay Award: Do you think you deliver the essence of Hawke’s Bay? How do you showcase Hawke’s Bay, what do you think makes what you do quintessentially Hawke’s Bay.
  • Environment Award: this new category recognises businesses that have environmentally sustainable business practices at the heart of their operations, including how that connects with the visitor experience.

Winners in each category will be judged for the Supreme Award.

They will be looking for you to be concise and clear in your answers, to show why and how you have chosen to do what you do and importantly to show the results of what you have done and the learnings you have taken from those results to continuously improve and grow your business.

The Awards are open to all tourism operator members of the Hawke’s Bay Tourism Industry Association.
